The services of school nurses are governed at the state level. Thus, the education requirements depend on the state where they work. Therefore, the certifications of these nurses vary between states. However, school nurses need to be certified by the National Certified School Nurse (NCSN) through the National Board for Certification of School Nurses (NBCSN).
